#EskomGauteng #PlannedMaintenance #Soweto Electricity supply interruption due to planned maintenance in Bester, Central Western Jabavu (CWJ), Dlamini 1 and 2, Fox Lake, Jabavu, Klipspruit, parts of Mofolo Central, Mofolo South, Moroka, Pimville Zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and White City on Wednesday, 19 August 2026 from 07:45 - 19:00. Eskom in Gauteng conducts planned maintenance on the distribution electricity network across the province as part of its maintenance plan. It is essential for maintenance to be conducted to service the infrastructure to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the electricity supply.

#JMPD Tactical Response Unit (TRU) officers were conducting crime prevention duties when they spotted a white Toyota Prado being driven recklessly with one male occupant. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused to comply, resulting in a high-speed pursuit. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on Ngwenya Street in Mofolo South, Soweto. The driver abandoned the vehicle & fled the scene on foot. A check on the eNaTIS system revealed that the Toyota Prado was stolen & partially stripped. The recovered vehicle was booked in at Lenasia SAPS Pound for further investigation.
